Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama planned to meet Tuesday with the prime minister of Pakistan, one of a series of private sessions for discussions ranging from international to economic concerns.

Who is he to meet with anyone at this point he is not President....
He is just showing, again, how arrogant he is. I would be cautious of any presidential candidate holding private sessions with a Muslim leader before he is even elected. What can Obama offer as a senator to this man?

Good point, newbie. Every so often for the past 6 months or so, Obama mentions taking the fight into Pakistan. And everytime I wonder, "what the heck is he talking about with stuff like that?" He's been saying he wants to withdraw from Iraq, bring troops home, and now increase troop level in Afghanistan. But every so often he'll sneak in Pakistan as if he has subtle intentions of going after Pakistan. Scary stuff.
You're right about not trusting a presidential candidate meeting with a Muslim leader before being elected. As a Senator, I'm not sure what he can offer. Obama is becoming less and less credible as a Presidential candidate.

A United States Senator can meet with anyone they want to meet with, any time and any place. Pretty easy to see why you're still pumping gas Niebie.
He is looking more Presidential everyday!

Why does he look like President of Africa. Why not Europe or any other continent. McCain looks like President of Planet of the Apes.
Don't worry about all the negative remarks Oregon288633, you have the advantage of breathing the clean pure cold air breezing in off the Pacific Ocean. These whiners are breathing the polluted stuff.
Damned if you do..Damned if you don't. See you in Nov.

See you in November when we will hear. And the loser is.......................................America!
I sure some of you heard this one. Obama and McCain are on a sinking ship. Who survives.

Yeah, I have to say there really wasn't any reason for these two guys to meet. I agree with you newbie. What can Obama offer him as a senator? I still think that the Democrats screwed up by not picking Hilary. And this is why. Granted, she was just first lady, but she spent eight years in the White House. I think in that time, like most first ladies. She did get involved with some things. (Not to mention their time in Arkansas) Obama is in his first term as a senator. (Correct me if I'm wrong) And he's been out half of that running for President. I not saying he shouldn't run for President. I just think he needs some years under his belt. G.W. had just a little over one term as Governor in Texas before he became President. I don't think I need to remind any one of how that turned out. I'm not saying I'm looking for a lifer. But if this was a plane. I'd at least like to know that the pilot can read the instruments.
No your wrong Ignat. The dems screwed up by not picking Bill Richardson. I'm from here in NM and he is a good governor. He's improved teacher pay, he's improved our mass transit with a railrunner train that by the end of this year will connect the southern counties with the northern ones, and he's done alot for economic development. Companies from around the world are relocating here to provide jobs and additional income. The dems though have really lost sight. They have picked The MOST LIBERAL Senator ever-at a time when level headed direction is what this country needs the most. I switched from dem to Independent about 6 weeks ago. I can't be a part of this leftist, communist no solution party. Good luck America, Our future is up for grabs in so many ways.

Well said Ignat, and I agree. Hillary would have been a far better choice. Obama, however Presidential he tries to be, is scary stuff for a variety of reasons.
Hillary would have been a better pick already being in debt. I can see the ads now from the Republicans. "How can she bring us out of the trillion dollar deficit when she can't even run her own campaign finances". Instead of whiny Blacks, we would have been talking about whiny women. You think Hillary would have had a smoother campaign, get a grip. There would be more shirts with iron decals sold before you could say Iowa. Republicans have years of dirt on Hillary, she would have been crying "for real". I'm sure the Republicans would have had Monica Lowensky lookalikes in all their ads. You want Blacks to be uneducated, poor, and unconfident. Barak has a big jip on his shoulder some say (mistaking ego for confidence), if he didn't you would be saying he is weak. Please rethink comparing Barak to GW Bush. Bush allowed Cheney to be President and make ALL the decisions. Scared of the Black man that can think. If you don't want to vote for the man, then don't. All you can talk about is how confident and popular he is. That sounds truely ridiculous.
I'm waiting for the VPs to be chosen, then I'll compare apples-to-apples with the issues of each candidate and chose the one who most closely matches my ideals. I never vote soley for the person and how popular he/she may be.
Is Hussien now the President of the United States?????? After touring the east and probably making deals with Iraq, Iran, and all the enemy leaders, he is now taking over dealing with whatever world leader is in Washington to supposedly talk with the ousted President Bush. Why didn't the press carry the story that President Bush is not valid enough to handle business affairs with the Pakistan leader? I have seen lots of elected US Presidents, Obama is the first self appointed US President to my knowledge. It appears that Osama Bin Laden could be the VP and no one American would protest. Are all the elected representatives (Democrats and Republicans) afraid to tell Obama to remember that he is not the President of the UC. Who does this Pakistan minister think he is to come to the US and set up a conference with Obama? It is past time the US government set Obama straight. Better yet do it in November. Apparently he is a BIG threat to this country.
Sadie: I agree. What can a Senator possibly offer to a Pakastani Muslim leader?? There are lots and lots of Muslims in Chicago, where Obama lives, and I think there's more going on behind the scene than we know about (as usual!).
Obama is stepping over the line by running around acting like he's already the President. Total disregard for the people already serving in office .... pretty much thumbs his nose at everyone and does what he wants regardless.
Obama dropped about 10 notches when he blew off visiting the wounded soldiers at the hospital while in Germany, solely because he couldn't bring his entourage and media people with him. What? Not having a photo op discourage you? That was a pretty low blow.
And a soldier in Iraq who was there when Obama arrived wanted people to know the caliber of a man Obama is. He wrote that Obama only shook hands and talked to the soldiers when the camera was on him. When he first arrived, he went straight into a vehicle that took him to meet with the Major General. When he got there, soldiers were lined up to shake his hand and he walked right by without saying a word or shaking one single hand. He met with the General and was taken to the basketball court and again shunned soldiers waiting there to shake his hand. Soldiers said they got more thanks and hand shakes from the NBA basketball players than from Senator Obama.
I also read several months ago that Obama was quoted as saying that when he's President, he plans to replace the bowling alley in the White House with a basketball court. How many millions will that cost?? That should be a real high priority! Yea, right!
More and more his actions don't back up the person he superficially presents himself to be.
Welcome to Tuesday Night in America. All idiots and racists can post at half price.
After wading through the misspellings, punctuation errors and grammatical errors, one can read such insights as "I would be cautious of any presidential candidate meeting with a Muslim leader", "President of Africa", and "black person who has a chip on his shoulder, like all blacks".
Meeting with a Muslim ... ah, Pakistan happens to be one of the forefront issues in the campaign against terror. We are going to need to get serious with Pakistan. Any senator, particularly one who represents not only his state, but is the nominee of the party and represents approximately half the country, should let Pakistan know, in no uncertain terms, that we are serious about Pakistan getting their act together. So, Obama is acting in America's best interest and all you can think about is that the guy in a Muslim? Are you actually serious?
President of Africa ... racist post, not funny, not factual, not informative. Please crawl back under your rock.
Chip on his shoulder ... this guy graduated from Harvard undergrad and Harvard law. He has prospered like few ever have in America. In America, he has become a millionaire, a senator, a candidate for the presidency and an international "rock star". And you see someone with a chip on his shoulder? Are you looking at Obama or are you looking in the mirror. Either way, grow up.
And, the real question is why is McCain not meeting one of the key players in the global war on terrorism who happens to be in the USA? Perhaps no one really cares to talk to him because he has nothing to say. If you have already talked to Bush, what can McCain add, but more of the same.

B form D, you are one of the more intelligent people on these blogs.
I'm from Canada and Obama has a rating of 85 %, it should be 100 %, so we have 15 % stupid idiots here.
What a contrast between the 2, i don't know how anyone can vote for McCain, unless they are brain dead or are KKK, one in the same, thank God we don't have that here.
I personally find both Obama and McCain unacceptable:
Obama, while extremely intelligent and a fantastic communicator, does not represent personal freedom and accountability. He represents equality and hand outs for those who will not put forth the effort to personally succeed. Our nation is moving toward socialism, and Obama will only further that progression. I cannot support someone with an agenda that I do not believe in.
I believe McCain, on the other hand, to be simply incompetent. He is far center, and is willing to work between parties, and even put his political career on the line for what he believes to be the right course of action. But at the end of the day, I don't believe he has what it will take to move this country forward.
The reality is that neither of these jokers have even whispered a hint about fixing the things that are the root causes of our economic troubles. Sure, the problems are complex, but throwing a rug over the problem with more government programs can only make them worse.
Another country heard from. I'm glad that Obama is doing so well in other countries polls. Especially Canada where he tried to slide in the back door on NAFTA. Hillary called him on that one. The thing is - you passive countries don't vote in America. Pakistan is just the same as Europe when it comes to the US. They will tolerate us when it benefits them but will piss an moan when they have to contribute. Pakistan will not police their own borders but cry and look for compensation when we chase the enemy back across the border into Pakistan. Obama is soliciting support or acceptance from Terrorist countries and Places like France where the president is on record for calling the blacks in his own country "just scum". How does he feel about those who are not his countrymen and are of color. How can Obama take this man or anything he says serious?
John-330577
Aren't you a great patriot of your country. Just because all of Canada doesn't agree with you on supporting a president of another country you consider them stupid idiots. They should be proud of you.
What is the purpose of Obama, or McCain meeting one -on -one with foreign leaders? Until the election, Bush is our leader, and dictates foreign policy. Why confuse the issues,by having candidates talking directly to foreign powers and promising things. Has Obama not had enough photo ops lately?
Obama calls for "more troops in Afghanistan". Obama says "the United States economy is
the most pressing issue".
Who the heck is this guy to call for anything to be done about anything?!
He certainly is not the President and hopefully, never will be. I'm so disgusted with
Mr. Mouth and his moaning about issues that he knows absolutely nothing about.
Honestly, nothing (good) is known about this fool. Stories after story about how it was
so difficult for him as a youth. His wife moaning about paying $10k for piano lessons while
talking to people in Ohio who are STARVING and want work! What nerve. "We have just
finished paying off our student loans". Whine, whine, whine. Obama and wife had better start talking on the mid-class level.
Ok, I've vented and finally have made my voting choice for all to see.
Stay in the senate, get more experience and then try something else Obama.
For the students and the "symphathy" voters, do not do yourself a dis-credit by voting for
Obama, you are making your history (which is what you want) a huge tragedy for the USA.
Everyone: What can a Senator possibly offer to a Pakastani Muslim leader?? There are lots and lots of Muslims in Chicago, where Obama lives, and I think there's more going on behind the scene than we know about (as usual!).
Obama is stepping over the line by running around acting like he's already the President and making promises to gullible Americans that he knows he can't fill. Total disregard for the people already serving in office .... pretty much thumbs his nose at everyone and does what he wants regardless.

The personnel standing in the ranks are not privy to what the commander in chief, to be, desires to talk about or to whom he wants to talk with.
The negative remarks being put forth here for either candidate cannot be justified. Those of you doing so must have to pop a lot of Tums tablets at bed time in order to settle out the burn of stupidity.
I must have over selpt and did,t get to vote. Is Obama really president or is he just acting like it?
